Travel by long-tailed boat along the picturesque Chao Phraya River (the River of Kings) and explore the Thonburi klongs. Criss-crossing Bangkok, the complex network of klongs (canals) highlight the traditional Thai way of life that once gave the city the nickname “The Venice of the East.” This excursion provide a glimpse of how important the city’s water network remains for the residents of the stilted houses and floating barges which line the majestic river.
After leaving the klongs, you will once again utilize the river to visit Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn). The temple’s magnificent Prang (tower-like spire), a dramatic landmark on the south bank of the Chao Phraya, is embedded with pieces of multi-coloured porcelain which strikingly reflect the rays of the glorious morning sun.
